Job summary

Arnold Machinery is seeking a Shop Tech (Material Handling) to join our service team. The role handles disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, inspection, and minor repairs of material handling equipment, using a forklift and overhead crane to move parts, and maintaining a clean, safe shop environment.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 1–2 years of experience preferred, and basic data entry and computer skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1–2 years of previous experience preferred.
• Good communication, organizational, time management and mathematical skills.
• Dependable and reliable.
• Equipment maintenance, data entry and computer skills may be required.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift and an overhead crane.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, clean and reassemble material handling equipment.
• Assist shipping and receiving; unload trucks and check in merchandise.
• Maintain safe, clean work areas and equipment.
• Perform routine light maintenance and inspections on equipment.
• Repair and maintain construction equipment; use test equipment for adjustments.
• Make warranty recommendations and reports; participate in welding, fabrication, plumbing, and electrical tasks as needed.

Our training, the Shop Service Technician helps Arnold keep that standing.Essential duties and responsibilitiesDisassemble, clean, and reassemble all material handling equipmentAssist shipping and receiving unloading trucks and checking in merchandiseMaintaining safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and work stations neat; Sweep, dust, and mop.
