Job summary

The High Museum of Art is seeking a part-time Shop Sales Associate (Floater) to support sales goals across the main shop and upcoming pop-up locations. Weekend and Friday night availability are required; 8–16 hours per week with shifts including openings, closings, and peak periods.

Responsibilities include customer service, membership promotion, POS transactions using Shopify, merchandising, and inventory support, with knowledge of the Museum's collections to engage guests.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and at least one year of retail experience.
• Some knowledge of art history is a plus.
• Bilingual ability is a plus.
• Strong reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to stand for 4–8 hour shifts and lift up to 50 pounds.

This role will be required to perform duties at both the main shop and upcoming pop-up shop locations. This position is ideal for individuals seeking part-time hours in a creative, customer service- driven environment.**WORK SCHEDULE** • **Friday night availability mandatory** • 8–16 hours per week • Weekend availability required • Shifts may include opening/closing, evenings, extended hours, special events, and peak holiday periods**Hourly Rate: $15.00p/hr****WHAT YOU WILL DO:**Guest Service & Sales – 30% • Contribute to daily sales goals through excellent customer service and product knowledge. • Engage and assist guests throughout the shopping experience—from entry to checkout—with enthusiasm and a positive attitude. • Actively promote Museum membership by encouraging guests to become Members. • Consistently solicit Round-Up donations after each purchase.Operations & Transactions – 30% • Execute accurate sales transactions using the Shopify POS System. • Perform daily opening and closing functions, including cleaning tasks and handling change requests. • Maintain compliance with departmental policies and practices. • Assist with clerical and data entry tasks as needed. Merchandising & Inventory – 20% • Assist with merchandising, restocking, and organizing the sales floor and storage areas. • Support the annual shop inventory process. • Maintain product displays to ensure a visually appealing and guest-friendly environment.
