Job summary

Walmart seeks an experienced technician in Ottawa, KS to inspect, repair, and replace tractor and trailer equipment per company guidelines. You will manage work orders, perform diagnostics with specialized tools, and determine the best repair solutions while ensuring safety and compliance.

Responsibilities include handling drivetrain, electronics, HVAC components, and warranty processing; communicating with customers and team members to keep operations on track.

Qualifications

• 2 years' experience in tractor and trailer inspection and repair OR a technical school degree, or certification in Heavy Duty Truck/Trailer Maintenance.
• Valid state-issued driver's license.
• Brake inspection qualified as defined in FMCSA regulations, Section 396.25.
• Vehicle Inspection qualified as defined in FMCSA regulations, Section 396.19.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, repairs, and replacements on Walmart equipment following company guidelines.
• Create and process work orders, perform diagnostics with technical equipment.
• Identify maintenance needs and possible solutions; consult with others and select best solution.
• Conduct repairs for drivetrain, transmission, electronics, HVAC, and related components.
• Identify and document warranty conditions; process warranty claims for credits.
• Interact with customers, suppliers, and associates verbally and in writing.
