Job summary

The Judge Group is seeking a hands-on Production Manager for a fast-paced metal fabrication facility in West Bend, WI. You will lead daily operations, drive performance, supervise shop personnel, and uphold safety and quality standards.

You will manage schedules, labor, and cross‑department coordination among fabrication, welding, machining and assembly teams to meet customer delivery deadlines. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of production or shop management experience in metal fabrication

Description

Our client is currently seeking a hands on Production Manager to lead daily operations within a fast-paced metal fabrication manufacturing facility. This individual will be responsible for driving production performance, supervising shop personnel, ensuring quality and safety standards, and meeting customer delivery requirements.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing a fabrication floor and a strong understanding of laser cutting, brake press operations, welding, machining, and assembly processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily manufacturing operations across the production floor
• Manage production schedules, workflow, and labor resources
• Supervise and develop production employees and department leads
• Drive safety, quality, and on-time delivery performance
• Coordinate activities between fabrication, welding, machining, and assembly departments
• Monitor production metrics and identify opportunities for improvement
• Ensure customer orders are completed accurately and on schedule
• Partner with leadership to improve efficiency, productivity, and profitability
• Support hiring, training, coaching, and performance management initiatives

Qualifications & Requirements

• 5+ years of Production Management, Manufacturing Management, or Shop Management experience
• Strong background in metal fabrication manufacturing
• Experience with:
  • Laser Cutting
  • Fiber Laser Operations
  • Brake Press Equipment
  • Welding & Fabrication
  • CNC Machining
  • Assembly Operations
• Experience leading production teams in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a job shop environment
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Continuous improvement mindset

Preferred Qualifications

• Custom fabrication or job shop manufacturing experience
• Experience managing multiple departments or shifts
• Knowledge of production planning and scheduling
• Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement experience
