Job summary

Lift Truck Center in Joplin, MO is seeking a motivated Shop Porter / Technical Assistant to join our service team. This role offers hands-on mechanical exposure and a path to becoming a Field Service Technician.

You will work with technicians, support repairs, prep equipment for service, handle parts and inventory, and learn safety standards as you gain experience.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and interest in equipment repair.
• Technical training in diesel/industrial maintenance or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Assist technicians with repairs and maintenance.
• Clean, inspect, and prepare equipment for service and delivery.
• Load, unload, and stage equipment in the shop.

• Perform tire pressing and basic service support tasks.
• Assist with equipment preparation, inspections, and rental checklists.

What You'll Do

As a Shop Porter / Technical Assistant, you'll work alongside our service team to support shop operations while gaining valuable experience with industrial equipment and repair processes.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting technicians with repairs and maintenance projects
• Cleaning, inspecting, and preparing equipment for service and delivery
• Loading, unloading, and staging equipment in the shop
• Picking up and delivering parts and tools
• Performing tire pressing and basic service support tasks
• Assisting with equipment preparation, inspections, and rental checklists
• Maintaining shop organization, cleanliness, and safety standards
• Supporting inventory, shipping, receiving, and parts operations
• Performing basic facility maintenance and yard organization
• Operating forklifts and industrial equipment after training
