Our inventory includes audio, video, production, LED, rigging, cabling, tools, infrastructure and specialist event equipment used across live sports, entertainment and major event productions.

The objective is: the right equipment, in the right place, in the right condition, ready at the right time.

DUTIES

Manage the day-to-day operation, organization and presentation of the NABS shop and warehouse.

Manage warehouse tasks, priorities, crew requirements and schedules.

Implement NABS warehouse and inventory processes and continually improve them as operational needs develop.

Review upcoming event requirements and source and allocate equipment accordingly.

Manage the picking, checking and issuing process in coordination with Project Leads.

Manage event packing, load-out, return, unload and put-away processes.

Manage inventory procurement from initial request through purchasing, receipt, inventory entry and placement on the shelf.

Coordinate equipment inspection, maintenance and repair.

Manage subrentals and externally sourced equipment required for projects.

Build and maintain the warehouse operations schedule covering inventory management, maintenance, repairs, picking, prep, packing, loading, unloading and put-away.

Responsible for the general upkeep of Salt Lake Operations space including Inventory, Prep, Load, Repair, Yard and Parking locations and spaces.

Lead and coordinate shop and warehouse crew based on the changing requirements of the event schedule.

Work closely with Project Leads and NABS technical leads to ensure equipment requirements are understood and achievable.

As part of the NABs Management Team to contribute to continuous improvement and growth across the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

You will be accountable for ensuring:

Inventory is correct at all times — both in the system and on the shelf.

Stored equipment is organized, complete and ready for rental or event use.

Equipment required for upcoming events is available and prepared according to approved pick lists, kit details and project requirements.

Equipment shortages, conflicts and requirements are identified early enough to be resolved without affecting event delivery.

Subrentals and inventory procurement are managed within agreed project and operational budgets.

The shop, warehouse and inventory areas remain organized, professional and “customer visit ready” at all times.

Serialized, high-value and critical equipment is accurately tracked throughout its lifecycle.

Project Leads receive accurate and useful inventory information to allow them to plan and deliver projects effectively.

The warehouse is appropriately staffed during operating hours and for event-related prep, load-outs, returns and other operational requirements.

Equipment returning from events is checked, accounted for, inspected and returned to a ready-for-use condition promptly.

Continuous system upkeep to provide accurate reporting information across usage, costs, damage, repairs and budget tracking.

Delivering with in both Operations and Project Budgets at all times.

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

We are looking for someone who can take ownership of a busy and constantly changing event technology operation.

The successful candidate should have:

Strong event and AV industry experience, with a practical understanding of how professional audio, video, production, LED, rigging, cabling and related equipment is packaged and deployed.

The ability to turn a fluid event schedule into a practical requirements matrix for equipment, inventory, crew and warehouse resources.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to remain neat, methodical and efficient while working under pressure and tight deadlines.

The ability to understand the detail behind a project rather than relying only on the summary or equipment list.

Strong crew leadership skills — able to assess a variable workload, determine the resources required, engage a team and lead them through completion.

Strong communication skills and the confidence to work directly with Project Leads, technical leads, freelancers, suppliers and management.

A proactive approach to identifying shortages, conflicts, maintenance requirements and potential problems before they affect an event.

Experience working with inventory or rental management systems is highly desirable.

A genuine sense of ownership and pride in maintaining equipment and operational spaces to a high standard.

THE STANDARD

This is a detail-oriented completer role.

In the events industry, 95% ready is not ready. Our clients expect NABS to arrive prepared, complete and ready to deliver.

The Shop Operations & Inventory Manager is a key part of making that happen.

100% ready, on time, is what our clients pay for.

COMPENSATION

Salary is competitive and based on experience, technical knowledge, management capability, and relevant event / AV industry experience, with consideration given to prevailing market rates for comparable roles.
