Job summary

GeoStabilization International (GSI) is seeking a Shop Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain a fleet of specialized construction equipment across shop and field environments. You will ensure equipment reliability, safety, and minimal downtime with hands‑on problem solving and ownership.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance, strong troubleshooting across hydraulic/electrical/diesel systems, welding skills, and a valid driver’s license with CDL

Qualifications

5+ years of experience maintaining and repairing heavy equipment or construction machinery.
Strong troubleshooting skills across hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems.
Welding and fabrication experience.
Valid driver’s license and ability to meet CMV driver qualification requirements.
Ability to obtain a CDL within a defined timeframe.
Strong work ethic, reliability, and team‑oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, trucks, and specialty machinery.
Diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and diesel systems.
Complete welding and light fabrication to support equipment repair and modification.
Respond to equipment breakdowns and execute timely repairs to minimize operational delays.
Maintain accurate service records, inspections, and work orders.
Support equipment readiness by coordinating with operations and field teams.
Operate shop equipment, including forklifts, safely and efficiently.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safety‑compliant work environment.
