Job summary

Brothers RDC Paving LLC is seeking a Motor Vehicle Mechanic to repair and maintain trucks and heavy paving equipment in our fleet. The role requires reading manuals, using diagnostic tools, and performing preventive maintenance on-site.

Ideal candidates have strong mechanical repair skills, knowledge of diagnostics software, and a high school diploma or equivalent, with vocational training or apprenticeship preferred.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of all aspects of vehicle repair.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read service and repair manuals.
• Proficient with computer diagnostic equipment and software.
• Commercial Driver’s License may be required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a company fleet of trucks and heavy paving equipment.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance including oil changes and tune-ups.
• Test parts and systems to ensure proper function.
• Identify mechanical problems using visual checks or diagnostic tools.
• Inspect critical parts and systems with a standard checklist.
• Repair or replace malfunctioning parts such as brakes, belts, water pumps, transmissions.
• Plan and establish timetable to complete repairs.
• Visit job sites to inspect vehicles.
• Test drive to confirm safe operation.

The Motor Vehicle Mechanic will perform repair work and maintenance for trucks, heavy paving equipment and other motor vehicles in the company’s fleet.

• Maintains vehicles, which may include a company fleet of trucks, heavy paving equipment, tractor/trailers, and other paving motor vehicles.
• Performs routine and preventive maintenance including oil changes and tune-ups.
• Performs tests on specific parts and systems to ensure proper function.
• Identifies mechanical problems either visually or with computer diagnostic equipment.
• Examines critical parts and systems using a standard checklist.
• Repairs or replaces malfunctioning parts and systems such as brake pads, belts, water pumps, transmissions, and other mechanical parts.
• Plans and establishes timetable to complete repairs and maintenance.
• Visits job sites to inspect vehicles.
• Test drives vehicle to confirm safe and proper operation.
