Job summary

Utility Service & Assistance Holdings LLC seeks a dependable Shop Mechanic to maintain and repair aerial bucket trucks and heavy-duty equipment in our New England shop. The role is primarily shop-based with occasional field service work as needed.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year in mechanical repair, is CDL Class B certified (Class A preferred), and holds a current DOT Medical Card; must have own basic tools and a strong safety mindset to ensure quality work.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in mechanical repair (heavy equipment, diesel, or automotive).
• Aerial bucket truck experience strongly preferred.
• CDL Class B minimum; Class A preferred; valid DOT Medical Card.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on aerial bucket trucks and heavy-duty vehicles.
• Complete preventative maintenance and inspections.
• Support field service repairs when required.
• Ensure safe, efficient, and timely completion of all work; maintain a clean shop environment.

Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable Shop Mechanic to support the maintenance and repair of aerial bucket trucks and heavy-duty equipment. This role is primarily shop-based, with occasional field service work as needed. The ideal candidate has strong diagnostic skills, a safety-first mindset, and takes pride in producing quality work.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
• Perform maintenance and repairs on aerial bucket trucks and heavy-duty vehicles
• Complete preventative maintenance and inspections
• Support field service repairs when required
• Ensure all work is completed in a safe, efficient, and timely manner
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment

Requirements

• 1+ year of experience in mechanical repair (heavy equipment, diesel, or automotive)
• Experience with diesel engines and heavy-duty equipment preferred
• Aerial bucket truck experience strongly preferred
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues independently
• Must have own basic tools
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Valid CDL (Class B minimum; Class A preferred)
• Current DOT Medical Card
• Ability to assist with field repairs when needed
