Job summary

Conhagen in the United States is seeking a Shop Manager to oversee daily service shop operations, directing technicians and ensuring safe, high-quality repairs of rotating equipment. The role emphasizes strong leadership, discipline, and clear communication with customers and project teams.

You will supervise the repair, maintenance, and overhaul of pumps, compressors, turbines and gearboxes, enforce OSHA and quality standards, and implement cost controls and process improvements to deliver

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a service-oriented rotating equipment environment with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Strong technical knowledge of rotating equipment, including diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance.
• Proven leadership and team-building skills with the ability to manage personnel effectively.
• Familiarity with industry regulations, safety standards, and quality control processes.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make sound operational decisions.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency in shop management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of mechanics, machinists, welders and support staff.
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Supervise daily shop activities, ensuring jobs are completed on time and to specifications.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
• Implement cost control measures to improve operational efficiency.
• Oversee the repair and servicing of rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors, turbines, and gearboxes.
• Conduct final inspections to ensure adherence to quality and performance standards.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide guidance to the team.
• Work closely with customers and internal project management teams to understand job requirements and expectations.
• Provide technical recommendations and ensure clear communication on job status.
• Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through quality service and prompt issue resolution.
• Enforce safety procedures and ensure all employees adhere to OSHA and company safety standards.
• Lead safety meetings and training sessions to promote a zero-incident workplace.
• Maintain compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements.
