Qualifications

  • Highschool diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Diesel Technology, Business Management, or a related field strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 7–10 years progressive experience in diesel mechanics and heavy equipment maintenance, including at least 3–5 years in a managerial or senior supervisory role within a shop or fleet maintenance environment.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing teams, managing workflow, and aligning shop operations with business priorities.
  • Deep knowledge of heavy equipment systems, diagnostics, and repair techniques.
  • Proficient in using diagnostic and shop management software.
  • Experience managing maintenance schedules, parts procurement, and vendor relationships.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with a proven ability to manage budgets, labor planning, inventory controls, and performance metrics.
  • Track record of mentoring teams, leading through change, and driving continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments including operations, safety, procurement, and finance.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours or weekends when operationally required.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of technicians, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with company policies and quality standards.
  • Provide advanced technical support diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment as needed to support team performance.
  • Ensure regular inspections and preventive maintenance schedules are carried out effectively to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Manage parts and materials inventory, oversee procurement processes, and maintain optimal stock levels to support timely repairs and minimize delays.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor technicians, fostering growth and continuous learning within the team. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date service records, work orders, and maintenance logs to ensure regulatory compliance and operational transparency.
  • Work cross-functionally with operations, dispatch, and safety teams to prioritize shop work and support field readiness.
  • Enforce and promote adherence to all safety standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements, building a culture where safety is a shared responsibility.

Requirements,EducationandExperience:
