Job summary

Smyrna Ready Mix (SRM Concrete) is seeking a hands-on Shop Manager / Diesel Mechanic to lead a team of mechanics and oversee shop operations in Smyrna, TN. You’ll perform repairs on diesel trucks, mixers, and heavy equipment, mentoring your crew, and ensuring safety and uptime.

You will diagnose, repair, and maintain a range of diesel-powered assets, stay current with engine tech, and collaborate with operations to minimize downtime while delivering reliable service daily.

Qualifications

• Hands-on leadership experience in diesel repair or shop management.
• Deep knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Experience using diagnostic tools to troubleshoot diesel vehicles.
• Strong safety and quality focus.
• Valid driver's license; CDL preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification is a plus.
• Willingness to undergo SRM pre-employment screenings.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor mechanics and shop staff to safety, efficiency, and quality.
• Perform routine maintenance on diesel engines and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
