Job summary

SRM Concrete (Smyrna Ready Mix) is seeking a hands-on Shop Manager/Diesel Mechanic to lead a shop team and perform repairs on diesel trucks, mixers, and heavy equipment. This role blends leadership with technical expertise to maintain a safe, efficient fleet.

You will mentor staff, schedule maintenance, diagnose issues with diagnostic tools, and ensure compliance with safety policies. CDL preferred; high school diploma required; competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic, Shop Manager, or Lead Technician; concrete or heavy equipment experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Ability to diagnose and repair complex issues using diagnostic tools.
• Leadership, teaching, and prioritization of safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor mechanics and shop staff, setting safety and efficiency standards.
• Perform routine maintenance on diesel engines and heavy equipment; manage inspections.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems and implement solutions.
• Schedule maintenance with operations to minimize downtime and keep fleet ready.
• Maintain records of repairs and stay current with repair techniques.
