Join the V3 Team and take your career to the next level! We are seeking a Shop Manager to oversee our Construction Group at our West Chicago, IL office. V3 Companies specializes in construction of site infrastructure, wetland mitigation, native landscapes, and long-term maintenance, utilizing equipment such as yellow iron, small tractors, skid steers, trucks, trailers, and power tools.

About the Role

This supervisory position is key for maintaining heavy construction equipment, managing site activities, and supporting mechanic duties as needed. The successful candidate will ensure smooth operations of our 4-acre West Chicago property.

Responsibilities

1. Oversee daily yard and shop operations, ensuring equipment and tools are maintained properly.
2. Serve as the primary contact for site visitors and inquiries, ensuring issues are addressed efficiently.
3. Manage maintenance of yellow iron equipment, trucks, and trailers, ensuring optimal functionality.
4. Supervise a team of three mechanics.
5. Organize and prioritize work orders for timely completion.
6. Collaborate with mechanic staff, foremen, and field crews for seamless operations.

Qualifications

1. Advanced knowledge of heavy construction equipment, especially yellow iron, trucks, and trailers.
2. Ability to perform physical labor (lift/carry minimum 50 lbs).
3. Strong organizational skills for managing work orders and yard/shop maintenance.
4. Work ethic and flexibility to perform multiple tasks.
5. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
