Job summary

TNT Crane and Rigging Inc. in Fort Worth is seeking a full-time Shop Manager to oversee maintenance, preventative maintenance, customer service, safety, training, inventory and P&L for the Fort Worth branch.

You will forecast daily service workload, assign work to crane mechanics and shop staff, develop weekly estimates, uphold TNT safety procedures, manage open work-orders and purchase orders, and lead staff development to improve safety, quality and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of shop/maintenance experience and prior supervisory/management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Forecast daily service workload.
• Assign work to crane mechanics, technicians, and shop support personnel.
• Plan work to be done on a weekly, day and shift basis through the development of accurate estimates, and follow up on work assignments.
• Understand and implement TNT Safety and Shop Procedures.
• Identify variances and establish recovery plans.
• Provide feedback to subordinates and peers.
• Assume primary P&L responsibility for branch service operations.
• Responsible for hiring, directing and training shop personnel.
• Open work-orders and maintain purchase order systems.
• Develop and implement current and improved systems and procedures in accordance with company policies.
• Conduct inventory in shops and maintain accuracy in ordering, receiving, usage and adjustments.
• Assist in the training and development of staff and management.
• Maintain records and prepare reports.
• Knowledge of cranes and transport equipment including designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
• Motivate people to contribute a full day's work.
• Troubleshoot shop maintenance management systems.
• Monitor system operations and identify out-of-parameter delivery.
• Review problems and implement corrective actions.
• Assign work to individuals and team with safety, quality, on-time delivery and productivity.

Summary: TNT Crane and Rigging Inc. is currently seeking a full time experienced Shop Manager for the Fort Worth Branch. The Shop Manager is responsible for all aspects of maintenance, preventative maintenance, customer service, safety, training, inventory and P&L for a service work load branch.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Forecast daily service work-load
• Assign work to crane mechanics, technicians, and shop support personnel
• Plan work to be done on a weekly, day and shift basis through the development of accurate estimates, and follow up on work assignments
• Understanding and implementation of TNT Safety and Shop Procedures
• Identify variances and establish recovery plans
• Provide positive and constructive feedback to subordinates and peers
• Assume primary P&L responsibility for branch service operations
• Responsible for hiring, directing and training shop personnel
• Open work-orders, open and maintain purchase order systems
• Confer with vendors as to availability of goods, prices, deliveries, discounts and changes in supplies, materials and equipment offered for sale.
• Develop and implement current and improved systems and procedures in accordance with company policies for safety, operations, sales and administrative functions.
• Conduct inventory in shops and maintain accuracy in ordering, receiving, usage and adjustments to inventory.
• Assist in the training and development of staff and management in maintenance system areas
• Maintain records and prepare reports
• Knowledge of cranes and their transport equipment including designs, uses, repair and maintenance
• Motivating people to contribute a full day's work for a day's pay

Qualifications

• Knowledge of vehicle systems and technology and knowledge of local motor vehicle laws, OSHA, CDL, DOT and other pertinent regulatory requirements.
