Summary: TNT Crane and Rigging Inc. is currently seeking a full‑time experienced Crane Technician Mechanic to help build our branch location.
The mechanic will perform maintenance and repairs on cranes, forklifts, and other equipment.
Follows all State and Federal laws while operating motor vehicles.
Follows all safety and environmental policies while performing job tasks.
Candidate shall be able to perform inspections, diagnosis, repair and maintenance of various crane equipment including mobile cranes (all terrain, rough terrain, boom trucks, etc.).
Must have experience as a mechanic with electrical and hydraulics in modern crane technology.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma, trade school diploma, or GED preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience as a mechanic in a heavy equipment or crane specific environment.
- Reads and understands operating, parts manuals, and technical drawings.
- Tests mechanical, electronic, electrical and hydraulic products and equipment after repair or modifications to ensure proper operation and compliance with OEM specifications.
- Capable of accomplishing tasks independently without direct supervision.
- Observes and maintains all equipment according to safety requirements.
- Properly maintains all reports (time sheets, workorders, expense reports, etc.).
- Ability to work overtime and on weekends.
- Possesses a valid driver’s license, clean driving record.
- Must have a current Texas Department of Public Safety class C driver’s license.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
- Has a TWIC card or is willing to obtain one.
- Can safely lift over 50 lbs.
- Some travel required.
- Must have own tools; company will provide specialty tools.
Responsibilities
- Supply your own tools with up‑to‑date inventory (company will provide specialty tools).
- Perform scheduled maintenance on cranes, forklifts and other equipment.
- Document all maintenance and repairs performed and file records properly.
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic and commitment to quality.
- Work with minimal supervision.
- Lift up to 50 lbs. as required.
- Pass a drug screen and background check.
- Understand electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic circuits (a plus).
- Work evenings and weekends at the shop as needed.
- Verbal communicate safety issues to customers and co‑workers on location before and during job tasks.
- Report to supervisor and/or lead mechanic upon job completion for next assignment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
