Base pay range

$25.00/hr - $30.00/hr

For over 100 years, Maguire Iron has been an industry leader in the fabrication, construction, and maintenance of water storage tanks and elevated water towers. The Maintenance Technician will safely perform electrical and mechanical maintenance repair work, troubleshooting, routine and preventative maintenance on all plant facilities, equipment, and buildings.

Essential Functions:

• Perform preventative maintenance – regular inspections of oil, grease, cleaning, and/or repair of equipment.
• Respond quickly to repair and fix equipment to minimize downtime.
• Order spare parts, replacement parts, and other materials with supervisor approval.
• Work independently and in a team environment.
• Communicate with supervisor and management about ongoing issues and resolutions.
• Collaborate with product managers or engineers on new products and modifications.
• Make necessary modifications, conduct test runs, and adjust machinery as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Work safely in confined spaces, ladders, and catwalks.
• Record and report damaged or broken parts.
• Identify causes of machine breakdowns.
• Maintain shop areas, inventory, tools, and supplies.
• Clean and reinstall machine parts as required.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Technical diploma in electrical or mechanical fields preferred.
• At least 3 years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Valid driver’s license with insurable record.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Experience with welding, fabrication, overhead cranes, rollers, and presses.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment:

• Primarily in a shop setting.
• Requires physical activities including climbing, balancing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Adherence to safety policies and PPE requirements.

This position will initially train on weekdays before moving to the weekend shift.
