Job summary

Saia is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee a team of technicians across shifts and ensure safe, timely maintenance and repairs. You will coach staff, coordinate workflows, and supervise shop operations while maintaining compliance with safety and maintenance standards.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in equipment maintenance with 2+ years in a supervisory role, and familiar with diagnostic software and repair techniques.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience leading a maintenance/technical team is preferred.
• Strong communication and documentation skills required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise shop technicians, provide coaching and daily work direction.
• Assist with training and performance development of team members.
• Monitor preventative maintenance and repair quality and timeliness.
• Coordinate with parts team to manage inventory and materials.
• Provide hands-on instruction in diagnostic tools and repair techniques.
• Support expense monitoring and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with terminal staff to prioritize equipment availability.
• Ensure repair orders are properly documented and approved.
