Job summary

DeAngelo Contracting Services, LLC seeks a Shop Leader for our Decatur location. This is a hands-on role managing inventory, procurement, scheduling, and performing mechanical work on the fleet. You will work at the desk and in the engines, staying in the technical game.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of mechanic experience, a valid driver’s license, and leadership ability. CDL is preferred. We offer generous compensation, comprehensive benefits, and a supportive, family-like environment.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license with at least 5 years of clean driving.
• Previous Mechanic experience of 5+ years.
• CDL is highly preferred.
• Leadership experience required.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to prepare operating reports and to reconcile sales records.
• Extensive knowledge of automobile repair with ability to read and interpret technical manuals.

Responsibilities

• Perform customer service functions or scheduled maintenance.
• Manage administrative services related to automobile repairs; prepare cost estimates and notify managers of preventive maintenance.
• Reconcile operating accounts and records including sales with cash and receipts.
• Drafts and maintains operating reports as requested by the division manager.
• Monitor inventory and order supplies and tools for the shop.
• Schedule and arrange necessary maintenance for the shop.
• Ensure that the shop is neat, clean, and safe.
• Keep open lines of communication with all parties.
• Oversee licenses/permits with Asset Manager.
• Design and update equipment and spray systems to specifications.
• Prioritize and work on projects needing immediate attention.
• Determine vehicle condition by inspections and tests; identify worn parts.
• Keep equipment available by completing preventive maintenance schedules.
• Assist in fabrication of new equipment/new builds.
• Repair major assemblies and systems (power, drive trains, electrical, HVAC, etc.).
• Complete machine shop operations with alignments and checks.
• Check vehicle performance via test drives and adjustments.
• Comply with federal/state vehicle requirements by testing engines and safety standards.
• Conduct field visits for emergencies or breakdowns.
