Job summary

Dejana Truck & Utility Equipment, a division of Douglas Dynamics, is seeking a Shop Lead to guide shop floor associates in a manufacturing environment, ensuring production goals are met safely, efficiently, and with high quality. You will perform daily production tasks, lead by example, conduct QC checks on first-piece through final inspections, operate machinery, and support setup and changeovers to keep output steady.

This role emphasizes training and hands-on problem solving.

Qualifications

• Basic mechanical and/or electrical skills required.
• Able to operate hand and power tools.
• Must be able to read and follow instructions.
• Detail oriented and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead shop floor associates to meet daily production goals safely and with high quality.
• Perform daily production tasks and maintain safety and quality standards.
• Conduct hands-on QC checks: first-piece, in-process, and final inspections.
• Operate machinery, tools, and equipment as needed to support production flow.
• Assist with setup, changeovers, and adjustments to machines.
• Train and coach operators on best practices and safe operation.
• Monitor material usage and ensure correct parts are used.
• Communicate production needs and quality concerns to supervisors.
