POSITION:Shop Laborer (Night Shift)
SHIFT: Monday - Thursday 6:00am to 4:30pm M-TH with Friday or OT as needed
PAY RATE: $18.00 - $19.00+ per hour (DOE) + Full Benefits Package
LOCATION: West Fargo, ND SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES This position is an entry-level position at the site production level. This position will be assisting the production of our bridge line, performing various tasks while learning about this exciting industry. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Follow all company safety and quality requirements.
- Understand and follow all reasonable directions provided by the Supervisor, or designated mentor, regarding completion of tasks in written or verbal format.
- Master, within the prescribed probationary period, tasks associated with the applicable operational area of steel fabrication. Tape measure reading to 1/16”.
- Gain operational experience, within the prescribed probationary period, on equipment associated with the applicable operational area of culvert manufacturing or steel fabrication.
- Operate general hand tools and equipment as required.
- Responsible for the proper use and care of hand tools and equipment.
- Responsible for keeping work areas clean, orderly, and free of hazards.
- Understand the safe practices outlined in the TrueNorth Steel Safety Manual, utilize and maintain appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and to bring any and all unsafe conditions to the immediate attention of the Supervisor.
- Willing to work flexible hours and overtime or weekends as needed.
- Prompt and dependable attendance.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND QUALITIES
- Mathematical Skills- Ability to read and understand a tape measure and do simple arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers, feet, inches, and fractions.
- Reasoning Ability- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to understand instructions, written and oral.
- Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions and the trait of being dependable and trustworthy.
