We are searching for a Shop Laborer to work with our Equipment Division in Duncan, SC. The Shop Laborer will assist with shop related maintenance duties.
Support daily operations of the shop by assisting with equipment cleaning, organization, maintenance prep, and general labor tasks. This role keeps the yard, warehouse, tools, and equipment in working order so mechanics and drivers can do their jobs without delays. This is a hands‑on, physical position suited for someone who isn’t afraid of hard work and understands the pace of a construction environment.
Assist with the daily upkeep of the shop, yard, and warehouse.
Clean tools, parts, small equipment, and machinery as directed.
Help maintain a safe, organized, and accessible workspace.
Dispose of trash, scrap, and debris per company safety guidelines.
Move, load, and unload tools, equipment, and materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, or by hand (training provided).
Stage equipment for mechanics, drivers, or field deliveries.
Perform basic inspections (visual checks, fluid levels, tag conditions) before items leave the yard.
Support mechanics by preparing tools, cleaning parts, and performing basic non‑technical tasks.
Assist with cyclical inventory counts and documenting tool/equipment status.
Help track equipment movement, repairs, and returns in the shop’s inventory system (e.g., Tenna or similar).
Keep inventory areas neat and stocked.
Return tools and equipment to correct locations after use or repair.
Report damaged or missing items immediately.
Assist with delivering or retrieving small tools/light equipment from nearby job sites.
Perform simple field inspections and help with mobilization tasks.
Prior experience in a shop, warehouse, yard, or construction environment preferred.
Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly and work outdoors in varying weather.
Basic mechanical aptitude is a plus.
Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and material‑handling equipment.
Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions without cutting corners.
Valid driver’s license required.
Fast‑paced shop environment with exposure to dust, noise, heavy equipment, and outdoor elements.
Requires bending, lifting, crouching, and standing for long periods.
