Job summary

Skilled Trades Partners in Lexington, KY is seeking a Shop & Inventory Technician for a direct-hire, permanent role. The position blends shop operations, inventory control, purchasing, and basic mechanical work in a busy fabrication shop.

You will manage inventory, track tools, source parts, and use Excel and company systems to maintain accurate records while supporting fabrication and operations teams to keep the shop running efficiently.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and safety awareness.
• Forklift experience required.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Excel and data entry.
• Valid driver's license with a clean record.
• Ability to lift and move materials commonly found in a fabrication shop.

Responsibilities

• Manage and organize shop inventory, materials, tools, and equipment.
• Track tools issued, returned, repaired, or replaced.
• Monitor consumables and shop supplies and maintain stock levels.
• Perform regular inventory counts.
• Enter and maintain inventory and purchasing information using Excel and company systems.
• Assist with ordering and sourcing tools, parts, and shop supplies.
• Receive deliveries and verify incoming materials and equipment.
• Operate shop equipment after training and assist with basic vehicle maintenance.
• Maintain a clean, safe fabrication shop and support teams.
