Job summary

Altrad Sparrows in Slidell, LA seeks a Shop Helper to assist mechanics with assembly, inspection and repair of equipment. You will inspect water bags, maintain shop and yard cleanliness, and ensure proper use of company equipment while following safety and environmental rules.

Ideal candidates are motivated, dependable, and safety-focused, with high school diploma or equivalent and ability to operate material handling and lawn equipment.

Qualifications

• Operate material handling equipment safely in a warehouse/shop environment.
• Basic exposure to mechanical or hydraulic systems is expected.
• Willingness to learn forklift, pallet jack, and rigging operations.
• Follow safety rules, PPE requirements and company procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist mechanics in assembly/inspection/repair of equipment or components.
• Inspect and test water bags as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of shop and yard.
• Understand and comply with all Safety and Environmental requirements.
• Ensure company owned equipment is properly used.
• All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
