Job summary

Southwest Material Handling in Anaheim, CA is seeking a Shop Helper to assist with transportation and service shop duties. The position is full-time, day shift, with an hourly salary range of $18.67 to $28.42.

You will help keep the shop clean, receive and process shipments, assist with staging equipment, and support the warehouse team. The role requires a HS diploma or GED, ability to lift 50 lbs, forklift certification, and a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Tag equipment with date, customer name, model, and serial numbers.
• Pickup and delivery of items as directed by the supervisor.
• Assist in disposal of trash and yard maintenance.
• Steam cleaning, battery charging, and operating IC units as required.

SHOP HELPER JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary

The Shop Helper assists with various transportation and service shop duties. Primary responsibilities include keeping the shop clean and organizing and accurately processing incoming and outgoing shipments.

Responsibilities:

The following responsibilities are general guidelines and are not an exhaustive list of the full scope of responsibilities. Duties and responsibilities are subject to change based on business needs and at management's discretion.

• Moving vehicles and units at the beginning and end of each day to allow full access to the shop
• Positioning and displaying equipment as needed, where needed
• Emptying all trash containers in the warehouse, restrooms, and yard
• Mop, sweep, and clean all oil spills in both yard and shop
• Pickup and delivery of items as directed by the supervisor
• Receive delivery of products and equipment

Shipping and receiving duties include:

• Receiving equipment shipments, confirming the accuracy of the documents, and delivering paperwork to the transportation department and sales coordinators.
• Receiving batteries, chargers, and attachments and processing paperwork as above.
• Request customer names for received equipment and accessories, and tag equipment.
• Tag all received products and equipment with the date received, customer name, model, and serial number before storing them in the proper area.
• Make decal(s) Southwest ToyotaLift ID numbers on equipment as directed
• Keep all equipment areas clean and organized by type of equipment
• Assist in removal/ disposal of trash and wood when receiving equipment

Additional Duties as required

• Steam cleaning rental equipment, used equipment, and customer equipment after repairs
• Charging stock batteries and rotate charging all electric units
• Starting and operating all IC units to keep batteries charged
• Installing batteries in rental equipment

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED
• Ability to lift, pull, and/or push 50 lbs on a regular basis
• Forklift Certification
• Good driving record
• Attention to detail
• Proven ability to multitask and stay focused
• Good organization skills.
• Basic computer skills
