Job summary

M. J. Electric, LLC is seeking a Shop Helper to support drilling construction projects with shop and tool control duties. You will assist with inventory, tool assembly, and material deliveries on a fast-paced construction site environment.

The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and teamwork, with opportunities for growth within a long-standing electrical utility contractor. High school diploma required; CDL preferred.

Qualifications

• Welding capability and basic fabrication skills.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Experience operating heavy equipment is a plus.
• Basic warehouse principles and inventory handling understood.

Responsibilities

• Fill stock orders by selecting and pulling tools from inventory.
• Arrange shipping of stock orders to job sites by phone/online.
• Check-in daily FedEx shipment.
• Assemble and weld drill tools.
• Perform minor tool repairs.
• Keep warehouse organized and well maintained.
• Deliver materials and tools to job sites.
• Perform heavy lifting of equipment or tools.
• Scrap broken or obsolete tools.
• Maintain inventories and unload/load trucks; operate forklift/front end loader.
• Assist with annual inventory processing.
• Perform general labor for fabrication shop.

About this Role - Shop Helper

We are looking for a talented Shop Helper that has a passion for quality construction. This position is responsible for providing a wide variety of shop and tool control support to drilling construction projects.

What You'll Do

• Fill stock orders by selecting and pulling the proper tools from inventory
• Arrange shipping of stock order to job sites over the phone and online
• Check-in daily FedEx shipment
• Assembly and welding of drill tools
• Perform minor tool repairs
• Make sure tools in warehouse are organized and well maintained
• Deliver materials and tools to job sites
• Perform heavy lifting of equipment or tools
• Scrap broken and or obsolete tools
• Perform Warehouse work such as maintaining inventories, unloading and loading trucks, stocking shelves, operating a Forklift and Front End Loader
• Assist with the processing of annual inventory information
• Performs routine organizing, cleaning, maintaining and other general laborer responsibilities for the fabrication shop
