Job summary

This role supports routine tasks, tool organization, stock handling, and record-keeping, with early-morning shifts and weekend work while following safety procedures and PPE. You will wash and prep equipment, help with oil changes and basic servicing under supervision,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn equipment maintenance.
• Ability to safely operate basic hand and power tools.
• Valid driver's license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean and wash golf course maintenance equipment, vehicles, and tools.
• Assist mechanics with routine preventive maintenance tasks.
• Change oil, filters, grease fittings, and basic service work under supervision.
• Organize and maintain shop tools, parts inventory, and storage areas.
• Receive, stock, and label parts and supplies.
• Dispose of waste oil, filters, tires, and other materials according to environmental regulations.
• Keep maintenance records, work orders, and equipment logs up to date as assigned.
• Maintain cleanliness of the mechanic shop, yard, and equipment storage areas.
• Assist with equipment setup and transport as needed.
• Follow all safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Equipment Manager and Assistant Mechanic.

Position Title: Shop Helper

Department: Equipment Maintenance / Mechanic Shop

Reports To: Equipment Manager / Assistant Mechanic

Hours: Saturday 5 am to 9 am, Monday 5 am to 3 pm, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 5 am to 12 pm and Friday 5 am to 10 am

Position Summary

The Shop Helper assists the Equipment Manager and mechanics in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient shop environment. This position supports the preventive maintenance and repair of golf course equipment, utility vehicles, and tools while ensuring shop safety and cleanliness standards are maintained.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Clean and wash golf course maintenance equipment, vehicles, and tools.
• Assist mechanics with routine preventive maintenance tasks.
