Job summary

Ballenisles Country Club, Inc. is seeking a skilled Mechanic to help maintain the golf course equipment in top condition.

You will perform major and minor mechanical repairs on diesel and gasoline powered equipment under the Superintendent's direction, ensuring reliable operation and timely service. Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of mechanic experience with small engine repair or automotive knowledge, hydraulics, and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of mechanic experience.
• Knowledge of small engine repair or automotive.
• Excellent mechanical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge in hydraulic systems.
• Willing to be trained if reel grinding skills are lacking.
• Motivated, goal-driven and self-starter.
• Able to work with an assistant mechanic.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and implement preventative maintenance to reduce failures on golf course equipment.
• Repair golf course maintenance equipment.
• Keep repair records for all equipment.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and efficient shop.
• Maintain parts inventory through requisitions to the Purchasing Manager.
• Monitor gas and fuel levels in storage tanks.
• Ensure proper disposal of hazardous materials.

Job description

The responsibility of the Mechanic is to assist in maintaining the excellent playing condition of the golf course. The Mechanic will perform major and minor mechanical repairs on a variety of diesel and gasoline powered equipment under the general direction of the Superintendent.

Pay Range: $22.00-25.00/hour

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

1-3 years Mechanic experienceKnowledge of small engine repair or automotiveMust have excellent mechanical and problem-solving skillsWill train the right mechanic if person has no reel grinding skillsKnowledge in hydraulic systemsMust be highly motivated, goal driven and self-starterMust be able to work with an assistant mechanic

Responsibilities:

Conduct and effective preventative maintenance program in conjunction with operators to reduce mechanical failure and poor performance on all golf course equipmentRepair of all golf course maintenance equipmentKeep repair records on all equipmentMaintain a clean shop area and keep it orderly and efficientMaintain a clean shop area and keep it orderly and efficient

Maintain an adequate supply of parts through requisitions to the Purchasing Manager

Monitor gas and fuel levels in storage tanks
