Job summary

Allstate Peterbilt Group is seeking a Shop Helper to support our service teams across the Midwest. You will move trucks for technicians, drive test miles, and assist with cleaning, parts delivery, and basic repair tasks, ensuring efficient shop flow.

Responsibilities

• Move trucks in and out of stalls for technicians.
• Test drive trucks for extended miles to verify repairs.
• Provide steam cleaning/pressure washing assistance as needed.
• Clean shop floors, tool areas, and equipment.
• Deliver parts to technicians from the parts department.
• Retrieve parts from outside vendors when necessary.
• Assist in shop tool repair.
• Assist technicians with repairs when no tools or expertise are required; e.g., holding components or depressing a clutch.
• Manage retained warranty parts as directed.

Shop Helper Job Responsibilities:

• Move trucks in and out of stalls for technicians.
• Test drive trucks that need extended miles put on to insure repair is complete.
• Provide steam cleaning/pressure washing assistance as needed.
• Clean shop floors, tool areas, shop tools and equipment, and other areas as needed.
• Deliver parts to the technicians from the parts department.
• Retrieve parts from outside vendors when necessary.
• Assist in shop tool repair.
• Assist technicians with repairs when no tools or technical expertise is required; such as holding a component in place or depressing a clutch pedal.
• Manage retained warranty parts as directed.
