Excalibur Research Development & Manufacturing seeks a dependable Shop Hand to support daily manufacturing operations in a fast-paced sheet metal fabrication environment. You will assist production, assemble hardware, prepare orders for shipment, and maintain an orderly shop.
Ideal candidates are punctual, safety-minded, able to lift 50 lbs, and comfortable using hand and power tools. Training will be provided to grow into more advanced roles.
Excalibur Research Development & Manufacturing is seeking a reliable Shop Hand to support our day-to-day manufacturing operations. This hands-on role assists with production and assembly as needed, packages finished metal products, prepares orders for shipment, and helps keep the shop clean, organized, and running efficiently in a fast-paced sheet metal fabrication environment.
Perform basic assembly and installation of hardware or fasteners using hand and power tools.
Deburr, sand, grind, clean, and prepare fabricated metal parts as required.
Remove protective film and clean finished parts prior to packaging.
Inspect parts for obvious damage, scratches, incorrect quantities, or other visible issues before packaging.
Package finished metal parts and assemblies using appropriate materials (cardboard, honeycomb, foam, pallets, strapping, etc.)
Prepare shipments for freight carriers, including labeling, basic counting and documentation
Assist with loading and unloading materials and finished goods
Perform visual inspection of parts prior to packaging to ensure they meet quality standards
Maintain clean and organized packaging, shipping, and shop areas
Ability to operate hand tools and equipment safely
Follow all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements
Assist machine operators, welders, and fabrication staff as directed
Work efficiently to meet production schedules while maintaining quality standards
Perform other shop-related duties as assigned
Ability to work in a manufacturing or shop environment
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, bend, and perform repetitive tasks
Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
Reliable attendance and punctuality
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Previous manufacturing, welding or shop experience
Experience with measuring tools (tape measure, calipers)
Basic knowledge of sheet metal fabrication
Shipping and receiving experience
Dependable and punctual
