Job summary

Cronin Chevrolet is seeking an experienced Shop Foreman / Production Manager to lead our high-volume service department. You will guide technicians, oversee workflow, and ensure repairs meet manufacturer standards while mentoring staff.

Ideal candidates are Master technicians or current Shop Foremen with strong diagnostic skills and a track record of improving productivity and quality. This role offers leadership impact, modern tools, and opportunities for career growth in a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Master Technician, Lead Technician, or Shop Foreman
• Dealership or professional automotive service experience preferred
• Strong diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Ability to diagnose and repair complex vehicle concerns
• Leadership experience with coaching/mentoring a team
• Understanding of shop workflow, productivity, and repair quality
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Professional, results-driven attitude with strong communication

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily shop workflow and assist with dispatching to maximize productivity
• Support technicians with advanced diagnostics and complex repair guidance
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and drivability concerns
• Ensure repairs meet manufacturer standards and are completed efficiently
• Perform quality control checks on finished work
• Collaborate with Service Advisors for clear communication and timely repairs
• Mentor and develop technicians to raise skills and shop performance
• Identify training opportunities for team development
• Maintain a safe, organized, productive work environment

Cronin Chevrolet is looking for an experienced Shop Foreman / Production Manager to help lead and support our service team in a high-volume service department. This is an excellent opportunity for a Master-level Technician, experienced lead technician, or current Shop Foreman who is ready to take the next step in their career. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee daily shop workflow and assist with dispatching to maximize productivity and efficiency

• Support technicians with advanced diagnostics and complex repair guidance

• Assist with troubleshooting difficult mechanical, electrical, and drivability concerns

• Ensure repairs are completed accurately, efficiently, and according to manufacturer standards

• Perform quality control checks on completed work

• Work closely with Service Advisors to ensure clear communication and timely completion of repairs

• Mentor, coach, and develop technicians to improve skill levels and overall shop performance

• Help identify training opportunities and areas for technician development

• Maintain a safe, organized, and productive work environment

• Lead by example and help establish a culture of quality, accountability, and teamwork

REQUIREMENTS:

• Proven experience as a Master Technician, Lead Technician, or Shop Foreman

• Previous dealership or professional automotive service experience strongly preferred

• Strong diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting skills

• Demonstrated ability to diagnose and repair complex vehicle concerns

• Leadership experience with the ability to coach and develop a team

• Strong understanding of shop workflow, productivity, and repair quality

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

• Professional attitude with a results-driven mindset

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• OEM certifications and/or ASE certifications are a plus

• Valid driver's license and ability to meet dealership employment requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent

• At least 3 years of automotive service experience
