Job summary

The Shop Foreman – Machine Builder at Jobot leads daily shop operations, stays hands-on with assembly, and supervises machinists and fabricators. You’ll ensure high-quality machinery, safety, and efficiency from prints to shipment, with occasional client interaction and job estimating support.

We seek a driven leader with 5+ years in a machine shop and strong CAD/PM skills to guide a talented engineering team and deliver top-notch machinery to clients.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a machine shop environment, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Proficient in BOMS, Quality Management, and Machine Shop operations.
  • Strong knowledge of machine building and design, with a keen eye for detail and quality.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think quickly and make effective decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
  • A strong commitment to safety, with knowledge of safety protocols and standards in a machine shop environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, with excellent time management skills.
  • Proficient in the use of computer software, including CAD and project management tools.
  • A degree in Engineering, or a related field, is preferred.
  • Certification in Quality Management or a related area is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the production of high-quality machinery that meets our clients' specifications and needs.

  • Work closely with our Engineering team to design, build, and test new machinery.
  • Maintain strict quality control standards, inspecting all machinery for defects or issues before delivery.
  • Handle the creation and management of BOMS (Bill of Materials) for all projects.
  • Foster a safe and healthy work environment, ensuring all safety protocols and standards are adhered to.
  • Manage shop resources, including ordering supplies and maintaining equipment.
  • Handle any issues or conflicts that may arise in the shop, resolving them in a timely and effective manner.

Shop Foreman - Machine Builder

This role supervises shop personnel, drives safety and quality, coordinates workflow, and supports projects from prints/BOMs through final build, test, and shipment. Occasional client interaction and support with job estimating are included.

We are seeking a driven and experienced Permanent Shop Foreman- Machine Builder to join our dynamic Engineering team. This role is a unique opportunity to lead and manage a talented team of machinists, technicians, and fabricators, while also applying your technical skills in machine building. You will be responsible for overseeing our machine shop operations, ensuring the production of high-quality machinery, and maintaining our commitment to safety and efficiency. With your leadership, our team will continue to innovate, improve, and deliver top‑notch machinery to our clients.
