Ed Martin Buick GMC in Carmel, Indiana seeks an experienced Shop Foreman / GM Master Technician to lead our busy service department. You will mentor technicians, tackle complex diagnostics, and drive improvements in efficiency and quality.

This is a long-term leadership opportunity for a senior technician ready to elevate the team and shop performance. The role emphasizes hands-on diagnostics, problem-solving, and developing technicians while maintaining exceptional customer service and repair

Formación

• 10+ years of automotive repair and diagnostic experience.
• GM Master Technician certification required or equivalent.
• Advanced electrical and drivability diagnostic abilities.
• Strong mechanical and technical knowledge.
• Proven leadership experience as Shop Foreman or team leader.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to coach and develop technicians.
• Ability to hold people accountable while maintaining a positive culture.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

• Assist technicians with difficult diagnostic and repair issues.
• Take the lead on challenging electrical, drivability, mechanical and technical concerns.
• Mentor younger and developing technicians.
• Identify technician training and development opportunities.
• Monitor shop workflow and keep repair orders moving.
• Collaborate with Service Manager, Dispatch, Advisors, and Parts.
• Assign work based on strengths and shop needs.
• Monitor appointments and priority vehicles to optimize throughput.
• Perform and oversee quality-control inspections when needed.
• Reduce comebacks and ensure correct repairs first time.
• Improve technician efficiency and productivity.
• Stay current on GM technology, recalls, and diagnostic processes.
• Recruit, develop, and retain great technicians.
• Foster urgency, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

After an incredible 25 years with our dealership, our Shop Foreman is retiring. We're now looking for the right person to take the reins and help lead the next chapter of our Service Department.

Ed Martin Buick GMC is one of the largest Buick GMC dealerships in Indiana, with a busy service operation, an established customer base, and a talented technician team.

We're looking for an experienced Shop Foreman, GM Master Technicianwho is ready for a bigger opportunity.

If you're the technician everyone comes to when they can't figure something out, the person younger technicians ask for help, and the person management trusts with the toughest problems in the shop — we want to talk to you.

This Isn't a Desk Job

We aren't looking for someone to sit in an office and manage from the sidelines.

Our Shop Foreman will remain involved with advanced diagnostics, difficult repairs, quality control, and technical problem-solving.

But your biggest responsibility will be something even more important:

Making the entire shop better.

You'll help technicians diagnose vehicles faster, improve productivity, develop younger technicians, reduce comebacks, improve workflow, and make sure we're delivering the level of service our customers expect.

What You'll Do

• Lead, coach, and support our team of automotive technicians

• Assist technicians with difficult diagnostic and repair issues

• Take the lead on challenging electrical, drivability, mechanical, and technical concerns

• Mentor younger and developing technicians

• Help identify technician training and development opportunities

• Monitor shop workflow and keep repair orders moving

• Work closely with the Service Manager, Dispatch, Service Advisors, and Parts Department

• Help assign work based on technician strengths, certifications, and shop needs

• Monitor appointments, carryover work, waiters, and priority vehicles

• Perform and oversee quality-control inspections when necessary

• Help reduce comebacks and ensure vehicles are repaired correctly the first time

• Improve technician efficiency and productivity

• Stay current on GM technology, repair procedures, recalls, bulletins, and diagnostic processes

• Help recruit, develop, and retain great technicians

• Create a culture of urgency, accountability, teamwork, positivity, and continuous improvement

Who We're Looking For

Significant automotive technician experience is REQUIRED.

We're especially interested in candidates with:

• 10+ years of automotive repair and diagnostic experience

• GM Master Technician

• Advanced electrical and drivability diagnostic abilities

• Strong mechanical and technical knowledge

• Shop Foreman, Team Leader, Lead Technician, or mentoring experience

• Strong communication and leadership abilities

• Ability to coach and develop technicians

• Ability to hold people accountable while maintaining a positive culture

• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
