SUMMARY

The Shop Foreman / Chief Mechanic oversees vehicle maintenance operations, guides mechanics and technicians, manages work distribution, monitors inventory, and prepares job tickets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

1. Supervise and assist mechanics and technicians in their daily tasks.
2. Perform vehicle inspections, emissions testing, and routine repairs such as replacing worn parts, filters, tires, and servicing A/C systems.
3. Utilize diagnostic equipment to identify vehicle issues.
4. Respond to road calls throughout the county.
5. Be available during inclement weather conditions.
6. Fuel and prepare pool vehicles for trips.
7. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• PA Inspection and Emission License
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of general vehicle repair and maintenance

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Normal good health
• Ability to lift 25 lbs or more
