Job summary

Gravity is seeking a Shop Foreman 1 to lead and develop the team of Mechanics and Shop Hands, ensuring timely maintenance of Gravity-owned fleet and high-quality service calls.

The role focuses on training, supervising, and mentoring staff, along with accurate documentation and parts management to support branch operations.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising and mentoring mechanics and shop hands.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment (fuel, electrical, hydraulic, propane).
• Experience scheduling preventive maintenance for a Gravity-owned fleet.
• Strong documentation practices and record-keeping.
• Ability to manage parts and maintain a clean, organized work area.

Responsibilities

• Develops a consistent schedule for Mechanics and Shop Hands to perform preventative maintenance on Gravity-owned fleet.
• Diagnoses and troubleshoots equipment including fuel, electrical, hydraulic, and propane systems.
• Audits documentation, timesheets, checklists, records, repair orders and maintenance logs.
• Manages and orders various parts for the equipment.
• Supervises the work area to ensure a clean and organized workspace.
• Trains, develops, and mentors all Mechanics and Shop Hands.
• Completes monthly safety and equipment-related trainings.
• Answers Company-issued cell phone during on call hours.
• Any other duty assigned by the supervisor.

The Shop Foreman 1 is a master technician who utilizes mechanical expertise to support the needs of the branch in a professional, safe, and timely manner. The individual in this role is responsible for the training, development, and management of all Mechanics, appraising their performances, and utilizing the most cost-effective means for maintenance and repair of the Company’s rental and service equipment. The Shop Foreman also ensures all service calls are handled in a professional and precise manner at the highest standards of quality.

• Works with ethics, honesty, values, and integrity. Provides a position of professionalism to others.
• Develops a consistent schedule for Mechanics and Shop Hands to perform preventative maintenance on all Gravity-owned fleet.
• Diagnoses and troubleshoots all equipment including fuel systems, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and propane systems.
• Audits all required documentation, timesheets, checklists, receiving records, repair orders and maintenance logs in a timely manner.
• Manages and orders various parts for the equipment.
• Supervises the work area to ensure a clean and organized workspace.
