Job summary

Industrial Power Truck & Equipment is seeking a hands‑on Shop Foreman in Lewisville, TX to lead daily shop operations, mentor technicians, and ensure customers receive outstanding service.

This leadership role focuses on improving shop performance, developing talent, and maintaining a culture of accountability and safety in a fast‑paced diesel service environment.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of leadership experience in a Shop Foreman, Lead Technician, Supervisor, or similar role.
• OEM or ASE certifications and relevant technical training.
• Experience with heavy‑duty truck systems (Hino, Isuzu, Cummins, Allison, Autocar) and related service tools.
• Familiarity with CDK, Decisiv, and service management systems.
• Minimum 5 years in commercial truck, diesel, or heavy‑duty repair; equivalent considered.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities across diesel systems.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize workloads, solve problems, and communicate effectively.
• Commitment to safety, repair quality, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage daily shop operations and technician assignments to maximize productivity.
• Provide technical leadership and coaching to technicians on complex diagnostics and repairs.
• Ensure repairs are completed accurately and on time, with proper documentation.
• Collaborate with Service Advisors, Parts, and management to keep repairs moving and customers informed.

What You'll Do

Lead & Manage Shop Operations

• Oversee daily shop workflow, technician assignments, and repair priorities to maximize productivity and efficiency.
• Coordinate repair schedules, monitor work in progress, and proactively resolve delays.
• Partner with the Service Manager to achieve departmental performance goals.
• Ensure repairs are completed accurately, efficiently, and within customer commitments.

Provide Technical Leadership

• Support technicians with complex diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs involving diesel engines, electrical systems, aftertreatment, and other heavy‑duty truck components.
• Provide technical guidance while encouraging technicians to develop independent problem‑solving skills.
• Utilize OEM diagnostic tools, service information, and technical resources to ensure accurate repairs.
• Promote a fix‑it‑right‑the‑first‑time approach to minimize comebacks and improve customer satisfaction.
• Lead by example and create a positive, productive, and accountable shop environment.
• Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and hands‑on technical support.
• Identify training opportunities and help technicians advance their skills and certifications.
• Support technician onboarding, development plans, and performance evaluations.

Drive Performance & Quality

• Monitor technician productivity, efficiency, labor utilization, and repair quality.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflow, reduce downtime, and increase operational efficiency.
• Ensure repair documentation, quality‑control inspections, and warranty procedures are completed accurately.
• Collaborate with Service Advisors, Parts, and management to keep repairs moving and customers informed.

What We're Looking For

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 2 years of leadership experience as a Shop Foreman, Lead Technician, Supervisor, or similar position.
• OEM or ASE certifications and relevant technical training.
• Experience working with Hino, Isuzu, Cummins, Allison, Autocar, or similar commercial truck systems.
• Familiarity with CDK, Decisiv, and service management systems.
• Experience monitoring technician efficiency, productivity, repair quality, and shop performance metrics.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial truck, diesel, or heavy‑duty vehicle repair; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities across diesel and heavy‑duty truck systems.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize workloads, solve problems, and communicate effectively.
• Strong commitment to safety, repair quality, and customer satisfaction.
