Job summary

Anduril Industries in McHenry, Mississippi, is seeking a Quality Specialist for Rocket Motor Systems to be on the production floor, partnering with operations to ensure solid rocket motor hardware is built and inspected to specification.

You will conduct on‑floor quality support, manage containment and MRB processes, perform in‑process inspections and FAI coordination, monitor safety and quality, and drive continuous improvement with quality engineers.

Qualifications

3+ years in aerospace/defense quality roles in regulated manufacturing.
Hands-on use of calipers, micrometers, CMM, and other inspection tools.
Ability to read engineering drawings and apply GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
Experience with nonconformance, containment procedures, and MRB processes.
Familiarity with AS9100/ISO 9001 quality systems and internal audits.
Comfort on a manufacturing floor in energetic/safety-critical environments.
Strong organizational skills and data traceability.
Effective cross-functional communication and issue escalation.
ASQ CQI or equivalent certification.
Technical degree in quality/manufacturing/aerospace engineering.
Experience with solid rocket motor/propellant/ordnance operations.
Knowledge of MES/ERP or quality data tools (Jira, Teamcenter, Oracle).
Experience inspecting composite structures or insulation systems.

Responsibilities

Provide daily shop floor quality support to manufacturing operations, serving as the accessible, on-ground quality resource for operators, technicians, and production supervisors – answering questions, clarifying work instruction requirements, and helping resolve quality issues in real time before they become escapes.
Manage product containment activities when nonconforming material or process deviations are identified, ensuring suspect product is segregated, identified, and controlled until disposition is complete.
Conduct internal process audits across RMS manufacturing operations, verifying conformance to work instructions, manufacturing planning, quality procedures, and AS9100 requirements.
Perform in-process and final inspection sampling on solid rocket motor components and assemblies using calibrated measurement equipment, verifying conformance to drawings, GD&T, and acceptance criteria at checkpoints.
Monitor the shop floor for safety and quality risks, including FOD, ESD, propellant handling, cleanliness, and environmental controls, escalating concerns as needed.
Support MRB process by documenting nonconformances, gathering evidence, and assisting quality engineers with root cause investigation.
Manage internal rework activities from MRB dispositions, coordinating with manufacturing to communicate instructions and re-inspect before release.
Maintain nonconformance and containment data for trend analysis, corrective action prioritization, and reporting.
Support FAI execution per AS9102 for new or revised RMS hardware, coordinating data collection and documentation.
Assist in developing inspection plans for incoming material and in-process steps, aligning with CTQ characteristics.
Train production operators on quality expectations, inspection techniques, and accurate data capture at the point of manufacture.
Verify calibration status of inspection equipment and tooling, flagging out-of-tolerance conditions per procedure.
Participate in continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues and bottlenecks and proposing practical solutions.
