Job summary

South Bay Solutions is a high-precision machine shop serving semiconductor, medical device, and advanced tech hardware markets. We seek a hands-on Quality Engineer to improve process quality, reliability, and consistency by collaborating with production teams, investigating issues, and driving corrective actions on the shop floor.

The successful candidate will apply root-cause analysis, statistical tools, and quality systems knowledge to ensure products meet customer and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Quality Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 quality management systems.
• Experience with PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, 8D, SPC, MSA, PPAP.
• Strong problem-solving and written/verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Translate drawings and requirements into manufacturing and inspection plans.
• Develop and maintain Control Plans, PFMEAs, Process Flow Diagrams, inspection plans, and work instructions.
• Lead root-cause investigations using 5-Why, Fishbone, 8D, and corrective actions.
• Support supplier quality, MRB, nonconformances, and CAPA activities.
• Provide hands-on quality support on the shop floor and assist with troubleshooting.
