Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking a Shop Floor Application Engineer (IT/OT) to bridge IT and OT in manufacturing facilities. You will support secure, reliable integration of manufacturing systems and collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams.

Role focuses on cybersecurity controls, data collection, and plant-wide digital transformation initiatives, with on-site work in North Carolina and opportunities for growth within a global engineering group.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, IT, CS, Industrial Tech, or related.
3+ years supporting manufacturing IT/OT, automation, or industrial systems.
Ability to work fully on-site in Kinston, NC.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and support IT/OT connectivity solutions.
Integrate manufacturing systems with ERP/MES/SCADA/Historian and data analytics.
Support data collection, visualization, and reporting initiatives.
Manage industrial networks, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems.
Maintain OT infrastructure, including servers and virtual environments.
Ensure high availability and reliability of plant systems.
Support PLC, HMI, SCADA, and related automation.
Coordinate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams.
