Job summary

CRH Americas Building Products seeks a Senior OT Systems Engineer to design and secure plant-floor OT infrastructure and its IT integration. You will bridge IT and plant engineering, drive standardized OT environments across sites, and prioritize uptime, safety, and cybersecurity in manufacturing operations.

The role focuses on connectivity, lifecycle management, and adherence to IT standards, with collaboration across automation and maintenance teams at multiple sites.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in OT or manufacturing IT environments.
• Experience supporting plant-floor systems.
• Strong understanding of industrial control systems.
• Experience with OT networking concepts (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, OPC).
• Hands-on with firewalls, switches, segmentation, secure remote access.
• Familiarity with historians, MES, OT data integrations.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support standardized OT-IT integration.
• Establish reference architectures aligned with ISA-95 / Purdue model.
• Drive consistency across sites with OT integration standards.
• Support data exchange between production systems and enterprise apps.
• Collaborate with IT to design OT network connectivity and DMZs.
• Ensure OT environments meet IT networking, logging, and backup standards.
• Support secure remote access solutions for vendors and staff.
• Implement OT cybersecurity controls per IEC 62443 / NIST.
• Participate in OT risk assessments and remediation activities.
• Lead changes following IT change management processes.
• Provide senior-level OT integration support.
• Lead root-cause analysis for recurring issues.
• Oversee lifecycle management of OT infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain OT integration docs and standards.
• Govern OT connectivity, data flows, and third-party access.
• Review vendor designs for IT-OT alignment.
• Act as IT point of contact for OT integration at sites.
• Collaborate with plant engineering, automation, and maintenance.
• Mentor junior IT/OT engineers and share knowledge.
