Job summary

DRT Holdings in Meriden, CT, seeks a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer / CNC Programmer to support machining operations, modify CNC programs, and drive process improvements on the shop floor. This role collaborates directly with machinists and production teams to ensure on-time production releases and cost-effective manufacturing.

The position emphasizes hands-on programming, setup, and continuous improvement with immediate impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, OR 5–10 years of manufacturing engineering and CNC programming experience.
• Strong knowledge of machine tools and manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency with Mastercam programming.
• Experience reading blueprints and applying GD&T.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Determine manufacturing methods, routing sequences, fixturing, raw materials, inspection methods, and outside processing requirements.
• Provide detailed quotes and manufacturing estimates for precision-machined components.
• Input and maintain routing information and labor standards within company systems.
• Develop CNC programs and support program modifications for continuous improvement.
• Utilize GD&T principles and interpret technical drawings.
• Create setup sheets, operation sheets, and manufacturing documentation.
• Develop fixtures and tooling concepts to improve manufacturing performance.
• Support process improvements focused on quality, efficiency, and cost reduction.
• Balance multiple projects and changing customer priorities.
