Responsibilities

  • Assist in the assembly, repair, maintenance, and rebuilding of electrical panels and components.
  • Wiring basic electrical panels with supervision.
  • Operating various hand and power tools such as drills, screwdrivers, and soldering guns.

Skills

Basic knowledge of AC and DC voltages
Basic use of Digital Multi-Meter (DMM)
Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools
Effective communication skills
Fluency in reading and writing English

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Shop Electrical Technician to join our team and ensure smooth office operations. This entry-level position will assist in the assembly, repair, maintenance, and rebuilding of electrical panels and components.

Essential Functions include:

  • Wiring basic electrical panels in assembly with supervision
  • Mounting components and wiring panels, including labeling per schematic with supervision
  • Drilling, tapping, and cutting holes in metal enclosures
  • Operating various hand and power tools such as drills, screwdrivers, wrenches, soldering guns, and crimpers
  • Testing circuits according to schematics independently with supervision
  • Performing QA/QC checks prior to "Green-Tag" and recording test results
  • Assisting in facility projects like moving items, packing boxes, cleaning, and trash removal
  • Supporting other shop team members with equipment installation, service, and cleaning
  • Installing and verifying S3S decals before equipment shipping
  • Requesting necessary tools, supplies, and fixtures
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
  • Performing other duties as assigned by supervisors
  • Potentially working at other locations occasionally

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities include:

  • Basic knowledge of AC and DC voltages
  • Basic use of Digital Multi-Meter (DMM)
  • Understanding of electrical controls
  • Ability to use measuring devices like tape measure, caliper, thread gauge
  • Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools
  • Ability to identify thread sizes and fastener specifications
  • Understanding proper fastener installation and torquing
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools
  • Effective communication skills
  • Fluency in reading and writing English (Spanish a plus)
  • Manual dexterity and ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
