Job description

Bobcat of Houston – Pearland is looking to add a Diesel Mechanic. The role will provide quality repair services on Bobcat equipment to meet customer needs in a responsive, friendly, educated, and timely manner. Responsibilities include diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining construction equipment for both customer and dealer-owned assets, identifying mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, and electrical issues, and executing effective solutions.

Shift and Compensation

• Monday – Friday dayshift
• Hourly wage plus bonus structure

Responsibilities

• Provide quality repair services on construction equipment to meet customer needs in a responsive, friendly, educated, and timely manner
• Perform basic diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned construction equipment
• Identify problems with mechanical, hydraulic, diesel and electrical systems and execute solutions
• Participate in service training programs to develop skills and knowledge
• Document all repairs and testing for customer and warranty repairs
• Complete any other duties as outlined by the Service Supervisor or management

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required
• 2‑year technical school graduate preferred
• 1‑year fleet or dealership experience in a diesel shop is required; 3‑5 years preferred
• Must be a team player with a strong sense of commitment to the customer and service team
• Must have an inventory of hand tools to facilitate the assigned repairs
• Heavy equipment and/or agricultural experience is a plus

Physical Requirements

• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate construction equipment
• Occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull 50–100 pounds and/or frequently lift, carry, push, or pull 20–50 pounds; continuous lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling 10–20 pounds
• Regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, grasp or pull and lift objects; occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, kneel, stoop, crouch, and crawl
• Exposed to outside weather conditions, fumes, and loud noise
