Job summary

CraneWorks is seeking a Shop Crane Technician to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain a range of crane equipment including mobile cranes. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and meeting OEM specifications.

Ideal candidates will have 3+ years as a mobile crane mechanic, with experience in electrical, hydraulic, and CANBUS systems, and a commitment to exceptional customer service. Travel for field tasks is required periodically.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years as Mobile Crane Mechanic/Technician to diagnose crane defects.
• Working knowledge of CANBUS, PAT, ECOS, GREER or similar crane systems.
• Ability to read manuals, parts books, and technical drawings.
• Safety first with strong attention to OEM specs.

Job Title: Shop Crane Technician
Reports to: Service Manager
FLSA Status: Hourly – Non Exempt

Job Summary: All Mechanics are responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair and maintenance of various crane equipment including mobile cranes (All Terrain, Rough Terrain, Crawler Cranes, Boom Trucks, knuckle booms, bucket trucks, etc.). Mechanic experience preferred with electrical and hydraulics.
Skills Aptitude Test Will Be Required
Key Responsibilities:

• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Mobile Crane Mechanic/Technician that can operate and inspect cranes in order to diagnose defects.
• Demonstrates working knowledge of CANBUS, PAT, EKS, ECOS, LICCON, and Greer systems.
• Examines parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges
• Reads and understands operating manuals, parts manuals, blueprints and technical drawings
• Tests mechanical, electronic, electrical and hydraulic products and equipment after repair or modification to ensure proper operation and compliance with OEM specifications
• Prepares for jobs by checking parts and drawings for accuracy and completeness
• Capable of accomplishing tasks independently without direct supervision
• Maintain conformity to safety requirements, manufacturer procedures, and other regulations
• Properly fills out working reports, hour’s reports, time sheets, hour’s overviews, work orders, and expense reports
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work overtime as well as on weekends is a plus. Travel is required periodically for 1 to 4-day intervals for field techs. Our shop technicians work anywhere from 40 to 50 hours a week depending on immediate needs and our field technicians work anywhere from 40 to 80 hours a week depending on customer needs.
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record required for field technician positions
  

Preferred Qualifications: History of working with different forms of mobile crane equipment, specifically Grove RT and TMS Cranes; Grove GMK European Cranes; Manitowoc, Liebherr, Terex, Palfinger, IMT, Cormach, National, Demag, Manitex, etc.
