A leading company in golf maintenance seeks a Shop Coordinator responsible for equipment management and team training. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of related experience, a high school diploma, and strong communication skills. The role includes hands-on maintenance tasks and administrative duties to ensure efficient operations within the golf course machinery management.
Position: Shop Coordinator
Department: Golf Maintenance
Primary Responsibilities: (guest interaction, ordering responsibilities, clean up duties, clerical responsibilities, etc.)
· Places safety as a top priority and is responsible for maintaining a clean orderly equipment repair area and maintenance building.
· Properly communicates any needs or problems relating to the maintenance or repair of equipment to the management staff and directs work assignments of the assistant shop coordinator.
· Inspects, diagnosis, and repairs mechanical defects or failures in golf course maintenance equipment.
· Has the ability to move heavy objects safely
· Assists the management staff with enforcement, instruction, and or training of the golf course maintenance employees with equipment preventative maintenance, equipment cleaning, and equipment safety
· Be able to prioritize equipment repair and maintenance work
· Keeps an organized set of business records for the following:
1. Equipment inventory
2. Parts purchases
3. Equipment repair and man-hour logs
4. Preventative maintenance schedules
· Spot check equipment while operating on the course, frequently making emergency repairs or adjustments
· Be available to work year round
Secondary Responsibilities:
· Shop coordinator may be required to perform greensman duties.
· Maintain a well organized satellite containment disposal station
· Be familiar with the Thorguard Lightening Prediction System and its preventative maintenance
· Has the ability to work in a variety of weather conditions while repairing equipment.
· Is familiar with the game of golf and has an understanding of how his job performance affects the playing conditions of the golf course.
Normal Working Hours: (Shift, days)
· Monday thru Friday 6:00am-2:00pm
· May be scheduled for weekend work
· May have to attend to unscheduled equipment repairs
In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate must meet the following criteria

Past Work Experience Requirements: (Type of work, number of years required, equivalent experience, etc.)
· 2 years or more coordinating or assisting in coordinating a shop, performing the responsibilities listed above.
Educational Requirements: (Degree/Certification, highest required/preferred, field of study)
· High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred
· Be available to attend service training seminars
Communication Skills Requirements: (Verbal: phone, in-person, group; Written: memos, documents)
· Discuss equipment repairs with vendors and manufacturers over the phone, in-person, and electronically
· Skills to negotiate pricing with suppliers of maintenance tools, parts, and services
Technical Requirements:
· Safe operation of hand tools, testers, reel, bed knife, and rotary blade grinders, wire welder, torches, tire changers, lifts, and presses.
· Ability to use Microsoft Office and Internet proficiently.
· Possession of a valid Class D driver’s license
