Job summary

MGX in Ankeny, IA is seeking an experienced Crane Mechanic/Technician to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain mobile cranes and boom trucks, ensuring OEM standards. You will document results and operate with minimal supervision.

You will read blueprints and manuals, work with Grove RT, TMS, GMK, Manitowoc systems, and test all electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical circuits. A high school diploma and clean driving record are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience as Crane Mechanic/Technician (2+ years preferred).
• Proficiency with electrical and hydraulic schematics.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair mobile cranes and boom trucks to OEM standards.
• Perform functional tests of mechanical, electronic, electrical, and hydraulic systems after repair.
• Complete work reports, time sheets, and expense records accurately.
• Pre-stage parts and verify drawings for job readiness.
• Provide top-tier customer service and safe work practices.
