Job summary

Ahern is a long-standing mechanical and fire protection contractor seeking a Shop Assistant for its Omaha, NE operation. You will perform deliveries to job sites, handle basic tool and equipment maintenance, and support the Shop Manager with daily tasks.

You’ll work independently on delegated duties, coordinate workflow, and help maintain orderly material storage and inventory in a fast-paced shop environment. Join a team dedicated to safety, quality, and hands-on problem solving.

Qualifications

• Prior experience working in a shop environment is required.
• Comfortable operating a forklift.
• Mechanically inclined and able to perform basic maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Deliveries to job sites throughout the Omaha, NE region while performing basic maintenance on tools, equipment, and machinery.
• Receive, ship and maintain storage of materials and inventory levels.
• Fabricate pipe for field use.
• Coordinate workflow, delegation and task completions during the Shop Manager’s absence.
