Job summary

Sonsray Inc in San Leandro, CA is seeking a Shop Assistant to support daily service operations. You will prepare, move, and clean heavy equipment, assist with check-in/check-out, and maintain an organized shop and yard.

You will work with the service team to load/unload equipment, perform PM tasks when needed, and deliver great customer service while traveling for deliveries as required. This role requires outdoor and shop environment comfort and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• 1-2 yrs experience with rental equipment, heavy machine operation, shop and yard cleanup.
• Minor heavy equipment repairs.
• Ability to work in and around heavy diesel equipment and shop environments.
• Strong customer service skills with a professional demeanor.
• Basic mechanical knowledge; PM services is highly desired.
• Ability to safely load/unload and transport equipment and materials.
• Comfortable working in varying outdoor and shop conditions.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record for occasional travel.

Responsibilities

• Check in and check out equipment, ensuring proper documentation and handling.
• Deliver and station equipment as needed for operations.
• Load and unload equipment and materials safely and efficiently.
• Pressure wash, clean, and polish equipment to maintain presentation standards.
• Assist personnel with daily tasks and various yard duties.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop and yard.
• Perform basic mechanical duties such as preventive maintenance (PM) services when needed.
• Provide exceptional customer service and address customer needs promptly.
• Build and maintain strong, long-term business relationships.
• Operate in and around heavy diesel equipment and shop environments.
• Occasionally travel to customer or prospective client locations for deliveries or assistance.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management to support dealership operations.
