Job summary

Tusco, Inc. is seeking a Shop Assistant to support the Facilities and Shop teams with general labor, custodial tasks, and maintenance duties across multiple locations. The role emphasizes organization, safe operations, and reliable task execution in a warehouse environment.

The ideal candidate will assist with inventory, deliveries, and basic repairs, while upholding Tusco’s standards of performance, experience, attitude, and relationships. CDL and forklift skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Able to lift up to 80 pounds as part of daily duties.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver license and clean driving record required.
• CDL is preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Keep warehouse area clean and organized.
• Support maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds at Tusco locations.
• Maintain equipment in proper working order and perform routine checks.
• Manage grounds, lawns, and storage areas and restock as needed.
• Record deliveries and pickups accurately per policy.
• Assist with safe delivery and pick up for Shop Manager.
• Safely operate a forklift when required and perform minor repairs as directed.
• Demonstrate good organization, attention to detail, and reliability.

We are currently seeking: Shop Assistant

The Shop Assistant will support the Facilities and Shop by applying mechanical skills and by performing general labor, custodial and maintenance duties as directed by the Shop Manager at various Tusco locations.

Responsibilities

• Maintains the organization and cleanliness of the warehouse area.
• Applying skills to the maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds as assigned at all Tusco Locations as assigned.
• Maintaining assigned equipment in proper working order.
• Maintaining grounds, lawns, and equipment/materials storage areas.
• Maintaining a proper inventory of equipment, supplies, and other necessary items needed to perform duties assigned.
• Performing minor repairs to the facilities including plumbing, electrical system, miscellaneous repairs, etc.
• Assists with Maintaining an accurate running inventory of tools, equipment, materials.
• Restocking and organization of material and supplies and inventory.
• Accepts, verifies, inspects, and records all deliveries and pickups according to policy.
• Completes an efficient safe delivery and pick up of items for Shop Manager as assigned.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Thorough understanding of warehouse policies and procedures.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to drive safely.
• Ability to use navigation tools such as onboard GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps.
• Ability to carry out a series of instructions without constant supervision.
• Able to always remain professional and courteous.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift, preferred
• Ability to weld (stick, mig, aluminum), preferred
