Job summary

National Water Main Cleaning Company-New England is seeking a Shop Assistant in Canton, MA. The role supports equipment maintenance, tool organization, and facility upkeep. You will report to the Superintendents and help manage inventory, restock supplies, and assist mechanics with routine service and inspections.

The position offers a day shift, 40–45 hours per week, and a pay range of $18–$22 per hour plus overtime, with full benefits including Health, Dental, Vision, 401k, PTO, and ESOP.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License required.
• Ability to obtain DOT Medical Card.
• Previous shop assistant experience a plus.
• Able to pass a drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Maintains vehicle inventory appearance and performance by cleaning interior and exterior of vehicles.
• Keeps shop and surrounding area neat and orderly.
• Sweeps, shovels or vacuums loose debris or salvageable scraps from work areas.
• Inspect parts, equipment, or vehicles for cleanliness, damage, and compliance with standards or regulations.
• Assist in cleaning and restoring proper supplies in the shop.
• Drive company vehicles, from vans to commercial trucks over 10,000 lbs.
• Deliver material to jobsites.

This employee will help support equipment maintenance, tool organization and overall facility upkeep. This person will report to the Superintendents and will help keep track of inventory levels, restock supplies and assist mechanics with any routine service and inspections.
